The Pavilion at Assiniboine Park is about to receive a $2 million makeover.
Officials at the Assiniboine Park Conservancy announced Thursday that the 85 year old building will be closed for months starting Monday to allow for a series of renovations as part of the overall redevelopment of the park. It the first significant reno job the Pavilion has undergone since 1998, when the building was restored after falling into disuse.
When it reopens in late spring, officials said the third floor gallery will have been completely renovated and restored, with minor renos occurring to the second floor galleries, main floor restaurant, and event space. New roofing, upgraded mechanical systems, and insulations will also be installed, as well as other upgrades.
